Hannah Drover

Hannah Drover has been a full-time soloist with Kittiwake Ballet since 2020, and was the inaugural RBC-Kittiwake Emerging Choreographer-in-Residence. She is a graduate of the George Brown College Dance Performance program (Honours), receiving the Dean’s Honour Medal, as well as the Ballet, Contact Dance, and Faculty Awards. Prior to college, she trained and performed with Kittiwake, Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, and Dance Studio East. After graduation, she continued her professional development through the Performance Research Program, Kenny Pearl’s Emerging Artist Intensive, Arts Umbrella, and Ballet Jörgen Junior Company. Since joining Kittiwake, Hannah has performed a variety of roles including Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen and Peppermint Princess in The Nutcracker, and Peter Pan in Peter Pan the Prequel. Hannah has also had the privilege to dance in new contemporary works created for the company by several Canadian choreographers, including James Kudelka, Jean Grand-Maître, and Syreeta Hector. Hannah participated in a choreographic mentorship with Human Body Expression in 2019, and has since choreographed works for Kittiwake Ballet, Neighbourhood Dance Work’s Festival of New Dance, George Brown Dance Ensemble, The Garage Collective, and St. John’s International CircusFest. In 2023, Hannah co-choreographed Kittiwake’s original story ballet Narnia alongside Martin Vallée. Hannah loves to share her joy and passion for dance through performance, and is grateful for the opportunity to do so here in her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
