Kittiwake Dance Theatre — Season 2026/27 Audition Notice

Kittiwake Dance Theatre invites applications for its 2026/27 season.

Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Kittiwake Ballet is the province’s resident ballet company, dedicated to creating meaningful, high-quality dance experiences for audiences of all ages. Our mission is to celebrate the power of movement by blending classical and contemporary expression, fostering collaboration across artistic disciplines, and nurturing the next generation of Canadian dance artists. With a vision rooted in artistic excellence and community connection, Kittiwake Ballet seeks to inspire, engage, and reflect the spirit of our province through dance.

Interested candidates are asked to submit an audition video and CV to admin@kittiwakeballet.ca.

Applicants should possess:

  • Strong classical ballet technique

  • Excellent musicality, theatricality, and versatility

  • A genuine curiosity and openness to contemporary dance

The audition video should include studio or stage footage demonstrating both ballet and contemporary work.

Kittiwake Ballet invites applications for our Trainee Dancer Program for the 2026/27 season.

This program encourages creativity, individuality, dedication, hard work, and self-discovery within a supportive community of teachers, choreographers, and staff who are deeply passionate about ballet and the performing arts.

Our goal is to provide an environment where pre-professional dancers can thrive, offering a bridge between advanced training and a career in professional dance. Kittiwake Ballet’s core values—passion, creativity, integrity, professionalism, and community—guide every aspect of our work and mentorship.

Applicants must have completed high school and demonstrate strong classical ballet technique, versatility, and a commitment to artistic growth.
